Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to my e-Portfolio. My name is Sara Wallace, and I am delighted to meet you. I know that you are excited, too, but first, before you look over anything else on my e-Portfolio, I would love for you to read the following summary (so that I can more formally introduce myself):

My e-Portfolio draws together my experiences as a Master of Music, as well as a Library Science and Archives student, culminating in my graduation in August, 2014 as a Master of Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives.

Would you like more details about me? Then continue…

Over my two years as a Master of Library and Information Science student in Emporia State University’s School of Library and Information Management (SLIM), I have completed many extensive and professional quality projects, both within a group setting and individually. I have included a sample of these projects to show you what wisdom I have gained through reflecting on my growth. I have grown academically and professionally, as well as gained enthusiasm, confidence, and knowledge which will be necessary to succeed throughout my career.

In order to specialize within the broader field of librarianship, I have pursued a concentration in Archives and have completed the coursework and volunteer work needed to gain professional experience as an Archivist. I have volunteered at a records center and a historical society library, quickly gaining skills in processing collections of records and manuscripts.

In addition, I am very interested in the field of Music Librarianship, considering my musical background and expertise. I have completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with concentrations in Music Performance and Music History at Lehigh University, as well as a Master of Music degree in Performance at Portland State University. I have also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Portland State University in the fields of Music History and Music Performance.

My “Strengths Finder” profile reveals that currently my “Five Greatest Strengths” are as follows:

  • Intellection
  • Responsibility
  • Learner
  • Empathy
  • Achiever

Finally, I have met the SLIM Program Outcomes and Values and summarized how I achieved these goals.
