Outcome 7: Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning

 

"Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning by participating in professional development activities and disseminating new information to colleagues and patrons."

 

Librarian's are natural teachers. We teach ourselves, eachother, and our patrons. Before the advent of "one shot sessions" and the position of Instructional Librarian became a library-world catchphrase, librarians taught their patrons how to search the library catalog, use library databases, and even the basics of the Internet. Librarians have been teachers since they came into existence, but we have now adapted to a much more rigid concept of teaching--in a classroom, infront of students--in order to continue strategically pushing modern librarianship into the future.

 

As librarians, we also supplement our educations with an eclectic variety of educational mediums as well:
